BETA GLUCAN Recipes

These delicious recipes are all made using BETA GLUCAN. Although they have been tested, please note that cooking times and temperatures may vary, based on your specific cooking or baking environment.

BETA GLUCAN Chocolate Chip Cookies

Serves: 48

What you need:

1-1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup BETA GLUCAN
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts

What to do:

Combine flour, BETA GLUCAN, baking soda and salt in a small bowl. Beat together butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Fold in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased cookie sheet. Bake at 325 ° for 10-12 minutes

BETA GLUCAN Cranberry Cookies

Serves: 6 (2 cookies per serving)

What you need:

1 tbsp. BETA GLUCAN
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup sugar
3 tbsp. egg whites
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cranberry flavoring
3/4 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup cranberries

What to do:

In a large bowl, beat together BETA GLUCAN, water, sugar, egg whites, vanilla and cranberry flavoring. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt and cranberries. Stir dry ingredients into BETA GLUCAN mixture. Bake at 375° for 20 minutes.

BETA GLUCAN Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

Serves: 9 (1 cookie per serving)

What you need:

1/2 cup + 2 tbsp. BETA GLUCAN
1-1/2 tbsp. oatmeal
7 oz. milk
1/4 cup egg whites
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup oatmeal

What to do:

In a large bowl, beat together BETA GLUCAN, oatmeal, milk, egg whites and brown sugar. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, salt and oatmeal. Stir dry ingredients into BETA GLUCAN mixture. Bake at 375° F for 20 minutes.

BETA GLUCAN Low Fat Fudgy Brownies

Serves: 20

What you need:

1/2 cup + 1/8 cup water
1-1/2 cup BETA GLUCAN
1/8 cup oil
1 egg
1 package prepared brownie mix

What to do:

In a large bowl, whisk together water, BETA GLUCAN, oil and egg. Add prepared brownie mix. Stir until just blended. Spread in greased 13 x 9 pan. Bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.

BETA GLUCAN low fat fudgy chocolate brownies

BETA GLUCAN Banana Nut Muffins

Serves: 12

What you need:

2 cups flour
2 cups Sugar
1 cup banana, mashed
2 eggs
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp. BETA GLUCAN
6 tbs. milk
2-1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 cups walnuts (optional)

What to do:

In a large bowl, mix BETA GLUCAN, water, sugar, and eggs. Add banana and milk. In a separate bowl, mix flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt. Fold flour mixture into wet ingredients. Pour into greased or lined muffin cups. Bake at 375° for 18-20 minutes.

BETA GLUCAN Blueberry Muffins

Serves: 6 (1 muffin per serving)

What you need:

1-1/2 tbsp. BETA GLUCAN
8 oz. + 2 tbsp. milk
2 tbs. sugar
1/3 cup egg whites
3/4 cup + 2 tbsp. flour
1-1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup blueberries

What to do:

In a large bowl, beat together BETA GLUCAN, milk, sugar and egg whites. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt and blueberries. Add dry ingredients, and stir until moist. Bake at 325° for 40 minutes.

BETA GLUCAN blueberry muffins

BETA GLUCAN Heart-Healthy Smoothie

Serves: 1-2

What you need:

1/2 cup (each) strawberries, banana and mango
1 scoop of BETA GLUCAN
1/4 to 1/2 cup ice
1/2 cup apple juice
Blender

What to do:

Place 1/2 cup of each fruit in blender. Add apple juice, BETA GLUCAN and ice. Blend until even consistency.

BETA GLUCAN heart healthy smoothies

BETA GLUCAN Honey Wheat Dinner Rolls

(Qualifies for USDA Heart Healthy Claim)

Serves: 8 (1 roll per serving)

What you need:

1 cup water
1 tbsp. quick-rising yeast
1/4 cup butter, melted and cooled
2 tbsp. honey
1 tsp. salt
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup BETA GLUCAN
3/4 cup unbleached all-purpose flour

What to do:

Pour warm water (110 – 115 degrees) in a large bowl. Sprinkle yeast over warm water. Let stand until dissolved. Whisk together melted butter, honey and salt. Pour mixture into bowl with yeast. Whisk. Briskly fold in whole wheat flour and BETA GLUCAN. Begin to knead by hand or with a dough hook, adding white flour as needed until dough leaves side of bowl. Dough should become soft, but not sticky. Adjust by adding flour. Knead about 5 minutes. Cover dough with a damp towel and let rest on a lightly floured board for about 45 minutes. Roll the dough into a ¼” thick rectangle. Brush dough with melted butter. Cut the rectangle into 1 ½ “ wide strips. Stack up the strips five high and cut into 2 ½ “ lengths. Stick the blocks on end in muffin tins. Let rise until doubled in size (about 40 minutes). Bake at 400° F 15 minutes or until rolls are a golden color.

BETA GLUCAN Healthy Instant Soup

Serves: 1

What you need:

Hot water
Instant soup cup (healthy/organic version of any instant soup)
1 scoop of BETA GLUCAN

What to do:

Pour hot water into instant soup cup. Add BETA GLUCAN and stir. Let sit for 1 minute. Stir until even consistency.

BETA GLUCAN Healthy Instant Soup

BETA GLUCAN Butter Fat Replacer

Serves: multiple

What you need:

1/3 cup water
8 tbsp. (one stick) natural butter or butter replacement
Two scoops of BETA GLUCAN
Hand blender

What to do:

Pour water in medium bowl. Add BETA GLUCAN and stir ingredients to prevent splatter. Use hand blender to mix until whipped in texture.
